How to add a router to an EasyMesh network as a satellite device

EasyMesh routers and extenders work together to form one unified Wi-Fi network. Walk through your home and stay connected with the fastest possible speeds thanks to EasyMesh’s seamless coverage.

Note: Routers and range extenders must be compatible with EasyMesh. Firmware upgrades may be required. Visit https://www.mercusys.com/solution/easymesh/ for a complete list of EasyMesh-compatible devices.

Here are two methods to add a satellite router:

Method 1Using the WPS button

This method allows you to add a satellite router to an EasyMesh network with a Mercusys router or other brands.

Step 1 Enable EasyMesh on the Main Router. Here, we take a Mercusys Main Router as an example.

1. Log into the web management page of the Main Router. Visit http://mwlogin.net, and log in with your Mercusys ID or the password you set for the main router. Please refer to this FAQ to log in.

2. Go to Advanced > EasyMesh, and enable EasyMesh.

3. Click ADD SATELLITE DEVICES, select Others, then click NEXT.

There are 3 menus of Mercusys router, Mercusys extender, and Others are listed on the left side of the picture, and cancel and Next option list on the right corner.

4. Follow the instruction steps shown on the main page to prepare the satellite router

Display the steps to add Satellite Devices of Other brands. The back and finish button is in the right corner.

a). Plug in the satellite router next to the main router.

b). Reset the satellite router to factory settings or change them to satellite router mode. For Mercusys routers, go to Advanced > EasyMesh, and click Change Mode to change it to satellite mode.

Step 2 Press the WPS button (For other brand routers, please refer to their user manuals.)

1. Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on the main router and the Mercusys satellite router. Wait until the WPS process is complete.

2. Done! You can check the mesh device on the main router’s web page.

Method 2: Via Web Scanning

This method is suitable for adding the Mercusys satellite router with the Mercusys Main router. 

Follow the steps to add a satellite router.

1. Visit http://mwlogin.net, and log in with your Mercusys ID or the password you set for the router.

2. Go to Advanced > EasyMesh, and enable EasyMesh.

3. Click ADD SATELLITE DEVICES, select Mercusys Router, and then click NEXT.

4. Follow the page instructions to prepare your satellite router, then click DONE.

5. Click ADD. When prompted, "This device has been added successfully", click OK, then click FINISH. Then, you can check the mesh device on the router's web page.
