MERCUSYS is dedicated to improving and enriching the product features to enhance your network experience. We will inform you through the web management page when any updated firmware is available for your router. Also, the latest firmware will be released on our official website; you can download it from the Support page of our website https://www.mercusys.com for free.

Here, we use MB230 as an example.

Before You Start

1. Make sure that you have a stable connection between the router and your computer. It is NOT recommended that the firmware be upgraded wirelessly.

2. Back up your router configuration before upgrading the firmware.

3. DO NOT turn off the router during the firmware upgrade.

To update the firmware locally:

1. Download the latest firmware file for the router from our website: https://www.mercusys.com.

Note: The firmware is a zipped file. Unzip it or double-click to open the zipped file, and you will find two PDF files and another BIN file (xxxxxx.bin), which is what we need in step 4. Please move or copy that BIN file to the same folder or another path.

Display the items in the zipped firmware file.

2. Visit http://mwlogin.net and log in with the password you set for the router.

3. Navigate to Advanced > System > Firmware Upgrade.

4. Focus on the Device Information section. Make sure the downloaded firmware file matches the Hardware Version.

Display the Device Information of MB230 as an example.

5. Focus on the Local Upgrade section. Click Browse to locate the downloaded new firmware file, and click Upgrade.

Display the BROWSE and UPGRADE buttons in the Local Upgrade section.

6. Wait a few moments for the upgrading and rebooting.
